Wait, what?
So I went to bed last night on my friend's couch (couldn't be bothered walking home). When I woke up, the entire flat was reading Harry Potter.

Later, I walked past a pub. People were sitting in there, reading Harry Potter while drinking beer.

I come home and half of my flatmates are also reading it.

I feel a little left out... =\

Quote of the day!

And eh, it'll all blow over soon... I hope.

LOL! The weather over here was desperate yesterday, but that didn't stop people from queuing for hours in town with their umbrellas, just to get the bloody book at inflated prices at midnight. Why not just go down to Tesco's and buy it for half the price of the bookshops like my Gran did this morning? :D

From someone who's done a midnight launch (albeit, with better weather and not for a silly HP book): it's all about the experience ^_^

Inflated prices at a midnight launch? It definitely makes business sense, but the weird thing about new release books here is that they're actually half-price for the first day.

I wasn't really trying, but I half-expected myself to ditch the hype for now. With moving and whatnot, I doubt I'll have time to read. But I bought it anyway, and I'm gonna get back into reading tonight it seems.

The impression I got was that the "inflated prices" are the book's full cover price. From what I've heard, Tesco's selling it at a discount.

And yeah, a lot of the chain bookstores in the states probably already have this thing 30-40% off.
