God fucking dammit
So two years ago I bought the Cloud AC Play Arts figure, and he was sitting happily on my computer until a gust of wind came through my window a week after I bought him, knocking him off and breaking his leg. Naturally, I was disappointed, but oh well.

But just now I was walking through town and Pulsar Max (the shop that sells models/comics/etc in this area) was having a sale, and I spied Alphonse Elric's model sitting in the window. I nabbed him, took him home, was limbering up the joints a little, and... his hand comes off as soon as I touch it. Snapped straight off, ball still in socket, and alternate hand sitting happily in box. Stupid ludicrously-stiff PVC... Now to find some sort of glue, and somehow get the ball out of socket (seeing as how it's supposed to come out and all)... >_< The worst part is I've seen online that you can take off his chest and head and see the blood symbol on the back of his armour, but I'm now too scared to touch him.

Argh. I have no luck with models.

Edit: So I ran the handless socket under hot water and tried to jimmy the ball out with a sharp knife, which worked: unfortunately, I was still standing over the sink when it popped out, so... that hand is now unfixable. Maybe I should just leave everything in the box next time.

Damn, I hate it when that happens -_- It has at least three times before with me, twice with Xebec-made figures (Rei Ayanami I managed to fix, Kanchi I ended up replacing), and once with a Play Arts. The Play Arts was Auron, and seemed to have been because of stress; I left him in his typical sword-over-the-shoulder pose for awhile, and when I started to shuffle my figures around, I moved his sword arm and the joint just quietly broke. I think I fixed it okay (tip: Krazy Glue is great for fixing PVC figures, but you have to be careful with it), but it was still very frustrating. I've also managed to dent one of the sharp edges of one of Final Form Sora's keyblades (the Hercules themed one), and have had some trouble with one of Vaan's swords - the part connecting the hilt and the blade was very flimsy, and I feared that it would snap apart altogether.

Leaving figures in the box is a good option sometimes. Better resale value down the line if you're into that sort of thing, and in my case, I'm nearly out of display room. You kind of miss their out-of-box presence, though :/

I never really saw the point in leaving things in boxes though... I buy it to let it gather dust properly.

Minor frustration about Alphonse - there's gaping holes and things when you bend his joints. But oh well.

Also glued Cloud's leg back on, albeit flimsily. He's standing awkwardly over me.
